Perfect Peace

At the end of a 3.5 year period of enormous tribulation in my life - a period I refer to as “my great war” - I had maybe my most favorite dream:

I was briefly waiting for something or someone in an old A-frame tabernacle chapel with white walls, exposed beams and open windows along the sides. The pews were the same dark wood as the exposed beams. Outside of the windows the sun was shining over green pastures.

Then everything is pure white. I’m standing in a simple yet most beautiful, perfect white room. A sheer white curtain softly blows in the breeze that comes in from a large window. The room is so serene and it overflows with perfect peace, it’s like swimming in a pool of tranquility. There is a little girl standing on my left, and a man standing on my right, although I never turned to look at either. We all just stood there gazing out the window at this bright warm light. I’m not sure if we stood there for hours or for minutes.

The dream might seem quite simple but it was anything but. There was so much beauty in the purity of the room, the all-consuming peace was beyond extraordinary, and the brilliant warm light radiated love.

I believe it’s even possible that I went to a room in heaven that night. Either way, that night was assuredly a supernatural gift from God. When I woke up the next morning, that perfect peace lingered tangibly in my room saturating the atmosphere. Over the following few weeks, whenever someone came to my house they commented on how “incredibly peaceful” the atmosphere of my house was.

He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, for there were many against me. Psalm 55:18

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
